Things to Bring on Mission Trip

Clothes
We suggest modest, comfortable clothes appropriate for 70+ degree weather. Loose clothing is recommended, preferably made of cotton. Modest shorts and T-shirts are appropriate for construction site. Remember to bring a cool but appropriate Sabbath outfit. Sabbath dress can consist of a collared shirt and non-denim long pants for males, and skirts or dresses for females. Some have made it a practice to bring clothing they are willing to give away towards the end of the trip.
- Nice pants/skirts for the evening meetings
- No jewelry of any kind
- Comfortable Sabbath shoes
- Working shoes (tennis or better)
For the work site
- Work gloves
- *Hat (optional)
- *Sunglasses (optional)
Toiletries
- Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush
- Deodorant
- Toilet paper, 1-2 roles (optional)
Other
- Hand sanitizer / Baby wipes
- Mosquito repellent
- Flashlight
- Water bottle/canteen
- Sun screen
- Camera and film
- Towel (and washcloth if you use one)
- Pocket money (small bills) Suggested $20 - $50
- Gift for your host family (i.e. Towel set, bed sheets, sweater, lotion)
Optional
- Small Pillow
- Journal
- Laundry bag
- Travel alarm
- Ear plugs (highly recommended)
- Light rain jacket or rain coat
Please try to pack light. Don’t plan on more than one suitcase and one carry-on with personal items. The second suitcase is to be used for Medicine, material and clothes to give away.
