Day 3 - Friday, July 13, 2007

By Judi Roberts

Waking up to rain today was refreshing. It made the temperature somewhat cooker and more bearable. Today was exciting because Pastor Ortiz's cousin and his wife, Dr. Walter and Nancy Hurtado, arrived from California. They are a wonderful addition to our team and help make it complete.

At the jobsite during our morning worship, the Pastor brought good news about Pastor Brian Yensho. He was doing much better and had returned from the hospital to his host's home to rest. Christopher stayed home to help nurse his dad to health. We are hopeful that by Sabbath Pastor Yensho will be better and will be able to join us for church.

We finished the day earlier than usual allowing most of us a few extra hours of much needed rest. However, part of the team stayed behind to work a little longer. One side of he church walls were completed minus the windows. By Sunday afternoon, we feel confident that we will have the rest done too, including the baptistry.

In the evening, Bobby Miskimen III, gave the message with Pastor Ortiz's interpreting. Many were blessed by his sermon. For the evening VBS class, we were able to move to a larger facility that enabled us to accommodate the 140 children that attended. Songs, stories, prayers and crafts all helped point out the way to Jesus. The team is trusting Christ to plant precious seeds that will one day grow for His glory.

God has been good to us, and we can't wait to see what He wil do next on this trip.
