Fact Sheet

1. Trip date & place: July 10-24, 2007 - Manaus and the Amazon River.

2. Purpose: Lead an evangelistic crusade, a vacation Bible school, build a church, and travel along the Amazon River providing medical attention on board of our mission boat.

4. Main Sponsors: Bloomington and Bedford Seventh-day Adventist Churches.

5. What is the first step?
Submit an application with a $100 non-refundable commitment deposit that will be used to reserve your ticket and will apply towards total cost. Turn by February 18, 2007 if you want to qualify for the early bird.

6. Funds: Each participant is responsible for raising his/her own funds.

7. Cost per person: Price includes all expenses in Brazil, including International round-trip airfare ticket, airport taxes, buses, boat rental, travel insurance, food, lodging, building materials, mission T-shirt, city tour and jungle tour:

  • $1,300 - Early Bird (if paid by April 15, 2007)
  • $1,400 - Regular Registration (if paid by May 20,2007)
  • $1,500 - Late Bird (if paid after May 20, 2007)
  • All expenses in USA like passport, visa, domestic ticket, vaccination are the responsibility of each participant.

    8. Who will arrange details in Brazil?
    Pr. Fernando Ortiz along with local SDA Conference administration and district pastors will be responsible and personally involved in the project, making sure you are safe, comfortable and achieving success in our mission.

    9. Passport requirements: 2 (2x2) passport pictures (can be taken at Wal-Mart. No vending machine pictures accepted); Birth certificate with seal (no photocopies); $97 Fee. Bring these documents to the local post office. It will take from 4-6 weeks to process. If you already have your passport, it will need to still be valid 6 months after our arrival in Brazil.     10. Visa requirements: Valid passport, one (2x2) photo. Persons under 18, will need a notarized authorization from parent or guardian. Cost: $110.

    11. Vaccination strongly recommended for: Yellow Fever and Hepatitis A (Hepatitis A is administered free in many city health departments). Malaria pills.

    12. Luggage allowance: 2 suitcases not exceeding 50 lbs each. One piece is for your personal items. The other is reserved for Mission trip supplies, medicine, crafts, tools, etc.
